About Diamond

The dictionary definition for “A diamond in the rough” is one having exceptional qualities or potential but lacking refinement or polish. This describes this precious Pit bull/Boxer mix girl to a tee.

Diamond had a very rough time before coming to Paws in the City. She was originally brought in to one of our vet partners as a drop off to check a leg that she was unable to use. The vet was told that Diamond had jumped out of the window of a moving car. The accident had happened 2 weeks prior and Diamond had been unable to walk since. At drop off the person gave their contact information and told the vet to call once the examination was finished and she would be back to pick Diamond up.

As it turned out, Diamond needed hip surgery. Attempts were made to reach the owner, but the information provided was false. Diamond was dumped at the vet by a person that did not get her medical care for 2 full weeks after she was injured.

Diamond got lucky that day. Paws in the City was called, and we came in to do what we do best – take care of dogs!

Since that day Diamond’s foster parent has seen a remarkable change in this sweet dog. Happy and getting healthier by the day her beauty is shining through and what a beauty she has turned out to be!

Diamond is potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, good with pets and friendly with kids of all ages. She knows the training commands off, leave it and sit. She’s extremely bright and picks up social cues quickly from both people and other dogs.

Are you the one to give this (almost) tragic story its happy ending?
