People always ask me, "How can I foster and not keep them all?" It's easy—I know I'm saving many lives. When you meet your foster, it becomes obvious what they need: an elderly couple, a young family with kids, a single outdoors type, etc. Their personality comes through (in time), and when you meet their new family, my heart is so full. Yes, once in a while, one will touch my heart, and they become part of my family. Watching a foster dog learn to be loved, to trust, and, in some cases, to simply be a dog is so rewarding. I can't imagine not wanting to show them the love they deserve.
